Abstract
Plasma Activated Water (PAW) is receiving discernable attention as a potential alternative to conventional technologies because of its unparalleled capability to treat the entire surface simultaneously and its antibacterial properties, which can be applied for various applications in food, medicine and agricultural industries [1]. However, the conventional technologies are not very efficient for generating large volume PAW because these are generally produced by cold plasma Jets [2] and are restricted to small dimensions. In present work, a surface dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) based device has been demonstrated for generation of larger volume PAW with and without application of air bubbles. The electrical characterization of the device has been carried out to optimize the operation parameters. The optimized source has been exposed then to untreated water at different times, and the water parameters -like, pH, conductivity, concentration of reactive species have been analyzed.
