Abstract
Electrical machines and power electronics have been used in commercial and industrial applications for decades. This work introduces the design and development of EV Traction Inverter based BLDC Motor Drive for e-cycle application. The complete process flow has been discussed with the help of a flowchart. A three-phase inverter supplies the desired voltage and frequency to the BLDC motor, which is operated by simultaneously activating two of its three-phase windings. The torque developed by the BLDC motor to cope up with the load is controlled by controlling the pulse width of the switches using space vector based PWM technique. Depending on the rotor position, the IGBTs are switched after every 60 degree interval. The relevant prototype results are presented to justify the proposed theory.
