Abstract
The intermittent behavior of renewable energy sources and the increasing prevalence of electric vehicle charging can adversely affect the voltage and frequency in the local distribution networks. The issues can be addressed by introducing an effective bi-directional power flow control with Plugin Electric Vehicles (PEVs), This paper presents a novel methodology to improve the voltage and frequency profile of Distributed Network integrated with Solar Photovoltaic (PV) & PEVs using a Fuzzy Logic - Synchronous Reference Frame (FLSRF) based control algorithm in Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) technology. The novelty of the proposed control includes a PEV feed-forward block to adapt to the changes in charging and discharging currents. The control technique also considers the changes in grid voltage, load current, and DC link voltage to output the gating pulses for the converter. The performance of proposed control technique has been established by simulating the changes in load and PEVs availability in the MATLAB environment in accordance with IEEE 1547-2018 standards related to distributed energy resources interfacing.
